Trigger jitter galore
By Robert Darlington
I bought one of these and still think it's great for a $360 scope, however it could be better. I see a lot of jitter in the trigger circuit, or rather, jitter algorithm. My trace moves side to side unless I have averaging turned on. Averaging can't be used for single shot measurements. That means it's a great scope to learn with and a great scope for some hobby work but not good for real work. This should be a matter of a software or firmware update to fix. I worked with the company on it and was basically asked what I expect from a $400 scope. I guess I expect more. Search for this item and you'll find my YouTube video comparing it to an Tektronix TDS-210 digital and and a Tektronix 485 analog scope.
What I really like about this thing is that it has a wide screen. More graticule lines! That and a VGA port so it can directly drive a wide screen TV without distortion. This is great for teaching a class or giving a demonstration.
Because of the jitter issue, this thing mostly sits and collects dust, however it's the only scope I own with a USB port. You can pull data off of it with a USB thumb drive. This is useful for analyzing what your scope saw, including graphics in technical papers, etc.

I'm liking the scope now
By Ron Bower
I saw the Aktakom Model ADS-2061MV oscilloscope on display in the T&M Atlantic booth at the Dayton, Ohio, Hamvention on May 19th. I had an immediate need for the scope, so purchased it on the spot.
They turned it on and showed me that it worked before giving me the box. However, after getting the scope home, it would not turn on. After exchanging a few emails with the T&M Atlantic Sales Representative, I had to return it (my expense) to their store in Miami, FL. They now tell me that that need a week to inspect it.
I'm still hopeful that I'll eventually get the scope back, but in the meantime my immediate need still exists - I may end up getting something else somewhere else.
I'll follow-up when this gets finally resolved and hope to be able to give a more positive review after I've had time to test the scope in actual use.
===========================
Well, it took a while, but I finally got the scope replaced with a New one. I got the scope back two days ago and it is easily meeting my simple needs. I'm working my way through the manual and getting familiar with the scope. So far everything seems to to functioning as expected and the frequency and voltage calibration appear to be right on the mark.
T&M Atlantic met my expectations and the scope is working well - I think it is a very good value.
